Some Common Q & A's
What's In A Name?
The name, Living Faith Church, was chosen for two reasons and both of them are based on scripture.
The first reason is based on several scriptures in the book of James in the New Testament. They are listed at the bottom of this page for your convenience. There is one verse that captures the essence of all the other verses and it is found in James 2:26 (NIV):
"As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."
The second reason is based on verses found in the book of Hebrews in the New Testament. It is located at Hebrews 11:8, 9 (NIV):
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land...."
Simply, Abraham, was given a promise by God, and he acted on that promise. He lived what he believed and God blessed him for it.
So we continually challenge, encourage and equip people to live their faith!
Are You Part Of A Denomination?
Yes. We are part of a much larger group of Christian believers called The Church of the Nazarene.
The Church is composed of all spiritually regenerate persons, whose names are written in heaven.
The Church of the Nazarene is composed of those persons who have voluntarily associated themselves together according to the doctrines and polity of said church, and who seek holy Christian fellowship, the conversion of sinners, the entire sanctification of believers, their upbuilding in holiness, and the simplicity and spiritual power manifest in the primitive New Testament Church, together with the preaching of the gospel to every creature.
Jesus himself was called a Nazarene. Here are two scriptures:
Matt 2:23
23
and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets: "He will be called a Nazarene." (NIV)
Mark 16:6
6
"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. (NIV)
Simply, we are Christian believers (the Church) who have made Jesus Christ (the Nazarene) the Lord of our lives.
